You can now register for the 2nd edition of El Llobregat Open Chess Tournament. The open will be held from November 30 to December 8, 2021 (9 rounds of play), at the Hotel Playafels in Castelldefels (Playa Ribera de San Pedro, 1-9), 25 minutes from Barcelona. There are more than 25.000€ in prizes. The registration form can be accessed here.
The rounds will be played in the afternoons, starting at 17:00h (except for the last round which will be played on the 8th at 10:00h in the morning). Outside these hours, complementary activities are being programmed to complement the tournament, both for the players and the general public. Some of them with surprises of national and international importance, which we will announce in due course.
For the safety of the participants, the tournament has a limited capacity. It is open to all players with a valid FIDE license and a FIDE ELO of at least 1800 points. Players who participated in Group B in the 2019 edition will be entitled to play in the tournament regardless of their FIDE ELO. Players with a Spanish federative license who do not have an international ELO may register if they have a Spanish ELO equal to or higher than 2000 points. You can find the tournament rules here.
